When people talk about Masai Mara, most often they talk about the migration and ignore everything else. Mara is phenomenal during the short and long rains. Our preferred time to be in Mara is between this season. The Mara receives short rains during November, December & January. With the migrating herds gone from Mara, the grasslands are green with short grass, perfect for photography. With the temperature around the Mara remaining more or less pleasant throughout, it pays to stay out in the field as long as possible. We have had some splendid sightings during our times in the Mara in this season and hope we can help you experience the magic that this place is at these times. Not too many vehicles around helps as well.

DAY 1

We start bright and early today, catching our flight to Mara from the Wilson airport at around 8:00am and landing in the Mara by around 9:30 am. We will start our game drive from the airstrip itself as it is right in the middle of all the action. Our resort is around 20 minutes from the airstrip but more often than not, we end up reaching the resort by lunch time, having an introductory game drive on the way.
- Target Sunsets
- Look for your first lions
- Learn the art of being patient
DAYS 2-5

Be prepared to be mesmerized by the grasslands of Mara.
Full of action and with no dearth of opportunities, this is where a wildlife photographer can truly exercise his/her craft. Learn to read the movements of your subject, anticipate and use light like never before!
- Focus on usage of light
- Make the most of the golden hours
- be patient for action - Thats the key
- Look beyond the big 5 when need be
DAY 6

We have a good half day on the field on our last day.
We typically book the late afternoon flights to Nairobi, so we have a solid 6 hours game drive and then we return to the camp to freshen up and complete the formalities.
After a quick group snap we bid adieu to the staff and friends in the camp with plans to meet again soon.
The flight would typically land in Nairobi by around 4:30pm and we have enough time to make it to the International airport for a late evening flight out (typically the 8pm Kenya Airways flight)
This trip is for photography enthusiasts only.
We strive hard to ensure that you get the best photo opportunities in the field and you learn a lot about wildlife photography. Thats our prime goal and a trip with us will ensure that you are on the right path as a wildlife photographer.
